The NCS Athletics Department, varsity coaches, and College Guidance Office assist our student-athletes through the college recruiting process in the following ways:

  • Providing information regarding prospective programs with one-on-one discussions,
  • Creating meeting space for the student to help determine criteria for both academic and athletic choices of colleges by utilizing questions and by practicing conversations with college coaches, and
  • Helping to navigate and understand the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rules and regulations that govern the recruiting process.

Our Athletics Department works closely with prospective college athletes and families so that they can understand the process better and learn best practices and guiding principles.

By continuing to compete for their school, athletes have the opportunity to demonstrate their skill set against competition, potentially play other roles for their teams that could improve their own skills and understanding, and grow into a leadership role with a demonstrated level of commitment through mentorship and organization of teammates.

There are many reasons to consider college-level sports, and NCS strives to support all of our athletes navigating this exciting transition. NCS helps student-athletes identify an academically excellent college, along with a college that will match with their athletic ability. This partnership is an important one for student athletes seeking this combination at the collegiate level.

There are additional resources that can be helpful in the college recruiting process, including an informative online brochure called the "Guide for the College-Bound Student-Athlete," which you can find at www.ncaa.org. The NCAA website has many helpful links, including one to the Eligibility Center where all college bound student-athletes will register to ensure their eligibility upon graduation from high school.
