“I love the interactions we have with St. Albans, like coordinate service activities, community events, and certain co-ed sports. At NCS, we can enjoy the benefits of an empowering female community, while still interacting with the other schools on the Close.” -Student

At NCS, you will experience the benefits of receiving an all-girls education that is also not only girls.

You will be in an all-girls school environment, but you will not be fully separate from boys. We have a comprehensive coordinate program with St. Albans School (STA) for boys, which is located just on the other side of the Cathedral.

You will be able to take advantage of each school's outstanding teachers, state-of-the-art facilities, and diversity and depth of programs. Due to this shared dynamic, our academic and extracurricular options are significantly expanded.

Our coordinate program begins in Lower School, where girls and boys perform together in wind and string ensembles. In Middle School, coed artistic collaboration continues for theatrical productions and for music ensembles.

In Upper School, our coordinate opportunities increase. Nearly all of our arts and music activities and classes are coed, such as choir, orchestra, jazz band, dance, and filmmaking. Our Chinese classes are coed, as are our English classes for Grades 11 and 12. NCS students also take classes at STA in other disciplines.

We also have coed elective classes, such as Computer Science and social sciences, and coed clubs, such as the Debate Team and the Government Club.

NCS girls and STA boys also participate together in chosen sports activities, such as climbing, crew, cross country, kayaking, swimming and diving, and track and field.

You get to decide, over time, how much interaction and overlap you would like to have with STA students and in which ways will be best for you. Our goal is to bring you together for a common purpose and for shared and expanded engagement.

Come and discover NCS.

“I always say that I like that it is all girls. [I think] it provides a really great focus in the classroom and a dynamic. We get the best of both worlds with St. Albans on campus (social, athletic, and elective opportunities).” -Student
