The Jane Craige Gray ’32 Library

Middle and Upper Schoolers make frequent use of The Jane Craige Gray ’32 Library. The Gray Library provides extensive resources—more than 25,000 print books, as well as digital databases, e-books, and audio books. It is where students learn to find, use, and cite information responsibly.

The Gray Library is a sunny, two-story space that serves as a community hub, designed for collaborations, author talks, and “crafternoons.” It is a place of support, helping teachers incorporate research into the curriculum in creative ways. 

For students, it’s the spot when you need a book recommendation, a primary source for a research paper, a space to gather for a class project, a quiet armchair to do homework, or a spot to relax while you wait to be picked up.

The Lower School Library

The Lower School Library in Whitby Hall is designed to foster a love of reading. Its comfortable seating and carefully curated literary collection inspire readers to delve into fiction and nonfiction, picture books, graphic novels, biographies, mysteries, poetry, folk tales, and more. Library Classes ensure all Lower Schoolers develop research skills and strengthen their appreciation of reading.
