Note: Students from D.C. are eligible to enroll in the Kids Ride Free program. Faculty and staff receive subsidies for Metrorail and Metrobus.

By Car

When driving to visit NCS, we suggest you put in the following address into your GPS system: National Cathedral Parking Garage 3101 Wisconsin Ave NW, Washington, DC 20016. This will direct you to the Wisconsin Ave NW entrance of our parking garage. See below for garage information.

On NCS's campus, each division has specific car pick-up and drop-off locations and procedures for everyone’s safety and efficiency.

NCS strongly encourages families to consider participating in a carpool. Current families may use the Carpool Corner feature in MyNCS to connect with other families by zip code.

Parking

Parking is available in the Cathedral’s underground garage, which has entrances off Woodley Road and at a traffic light on Wisconsin Avenue. You may view additional information on the Cathedral’s parking page, including rates. The first 30 minutes are free. To minimize disruptions to our neighbors, please do not park on the streets surrounding campus.

For athletic events, under the terms of our neighborhood agreement, all visitors are required to park in the Cathedral garage and not on neighboring streets. After 3:30 pm on weekdays and all day on the weekends, parking is also available on the surface roads of the Cathedral grounds.

Please note that parking is not permitted on the road that runs directly past the Athletic Center up to Beauvoir School. If you park there, you will be ticketed by the Cathedral Foundation Police.

Neighborhood Engagement

NCS is committed to being a friendly neighbor and an intentional community partner.

Throughout the year, every student and many of our faculty and staff engage in service projects that support D.C. communities and residents. Indeed, Service, along with Excellence, Courage, and Conscience, is one of NCS’s four core values.

We strive to be good neighbors by managing traffic and parking thoughtfully. We ask all visitors and community members to follow the parking guidelines outlined on this page. Students, faculty, and staff park in the Cathedral garage, while visitors are welcome to use the garage or designated surface parking after 3:30 pm. We appreciate our neighbors’ patience, especially during busy drop-off and pick-up times.

NCS sustains our community connection by facilitating conversation with neighbors about developments that affect us all. A Neighborhood Liaison Committee, open to all, meets twice a year to discuss questions or concerns related to school operations. These Committee neighbors also receive periodic email updates from the School, which they are invited to pass on to fellow neighbors.

An Athletic Center Advisory Committee also meets twice a year to review specific operations at that facility. As specified by order of the D.C. Zoning Commission, the Committee is made up of representatives of neighboring community groups, NCS, and the Protestant Episcopal Cathedral Foundation (PECF).
